About Tim Hanbury

Tim Hanbury

Hanbury Group is led by Tim Hanbury, a Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) with nearly 30 years of experience in the health insurance business. He was a sales manager for BCBS of SC and a Vice President of Sales for Cigna Healthcare, a fortune 100 company. His expertise ranges from individual to group health insurance coverage, including medical, dental, life, vision and disability.

With the legislation of the Affordable Care Act, South Carolina elected to offer plans through the Federal Marketplace or what's also called Healthcare.gov.  In South Carolina, we have one carrier that offers plans statewide and three that offer in selected counties of SC.

Agents in South Carolina were required to obtain certifications with the Federal Government (DHHS & CMS) along with each of the four carriers. Tim Hanbury has passed these difficult and rigorous certification exams to become a "Certified FFM Insurance Agent". This invaluable knowledge enables him to help you cross compare your options among 38 plan offerings amongst the four carriers.

In addition to helping you navigate your many options and advising you on the best plan to meet your financial and health care needs, he's there for you when it really matters. When a health coverage issue occurs down the road and you're getting the run around by a provider or the insurance company, he's there to help as your advocate.

His knowledge into the inner workings of insurance companies - with a thorough understanding of government regulations and how they affect our daily lives - is extensive. He's a great person to have on your side and his assistance will cost you no more than what you would pay if you purchased the plan directly from the carrier.
